About Us
Welcome to the global family of the Church of God UK Cross Cultural Ministries.
The roots of the Church of God UK Cross Cultural Ministries are found in the 1980’s
when the World Missions of the Church of God (Cleveland, Tenn.), USA launched a
mission to reach both the indigenous and the diverse population with the Gospel of
Jesus Christ.
Initially the mission was called ‘London Metro’ and was supervised by the European
Superintendent. This work was not making much progress as expected, and in the
1990’s Rev.Tony Summerfield was appointed as the supervisor for the work in
Scotland and the London Metro and had initiated the UK Cross Cultural Ministries.
Pastor Joe Kurian and family from India were appointed by the Church of God World
Missions in 1985 to pioneer and organize churches among the ethnic minority people
in the London Metro area and beyond. In 1996, Rev Summerfield handed over the
responsibility to Pastor Joe Kuriian.
The first Asian Indian Christian church under the UKCCM was established in 1983
and since then many local missions and congregations in various communities have
been organized.
The UKCCM focuses on:
